Solange Soares, TRAC communications manager, confirmed that there was a big accident between Dalmanutha and Milly’s this morning.
Two trucks were involved. According to Soares, it was a head-tail collision. There is dense fog on the road with limited visibility.
“Recovery is underway, but the expected time of recovery is unknown. Heavy traffic delays are being experienced. There are no injuries or fatalities,” she said.
Soares advised that travelling an alternative route via Schoemanskloof will not work due to the off-ramp being either before (travelling west) or after (travelling east) the accident scene.
Soares said she cannot advise any alternative routes as they are not managed by TRAC. Drivers are urged to be aware and to drive safely during this time.
