Eskom earlier today announced that the power system is still severely constrained as a cold front hit large parts of South Africa today.
It urged the public to reduce electricity usage as the power generation system is severely under pressure.

Eskom warned that any further deterioration may necessitate the implementation of load-shedding at short notice.
Shortly after this statement, it announced that load-shedding stage 2 will be implemented from 16:00 today. It will be suspended at 22:00 and resume from 09:00, and will again continue until 22:00.
