Covid-19: The number of confirmed cases in Mpumalanga as of June 17

The Mpumalanga Department of Health confirmed that the number of Covid-19 cases in Mpumalanga has increased to 391.

South Africa has a total of 80 412 confirmed Covid-19 cases according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Wednesday, June 17.

A total of 391 of those cases have been recorded in Mpumalanga. According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, 146 recoveries have been recorded to date. There has been one Covid-19 related death recorded in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.

The number of positive cases in Mpumalanga can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

• Bushbuckridge: 5 cases and 3 recoveries
• City of Mbombela: 59 cases, 30 recoveries, and one death
• Nkomazi: 34 cases and 23 recoveries
• Thaba Chweu: 15 cases and 6 recoveries

Gert Sibande District

• Chief Albert Luthuli: 4 cases and 2 recoveries
• Dipaliseng: 2 cases and 0 recoveries
• Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 18 cases and 17 recoveries
• Govan Mbeki: 71 cases and 24 recoveries
• Lekwa: 12 cases and 8 recoveries
• Mkhondo: 2 cases and no recoveries
• Msukaligwa: 4 cases and 1 recovery

Nkangala District

• Dr JS Moroka: 3 cases and 1 recovery
• Emakhazeni: 5 cases and 2 recoveries
• Emalahleni: 108 cases and 16 recoveries
• Steve Tshwete: 38 cases and 8 recoveries
• Thembisile Hani: 7 cases and 4 recoveries
• Victor Khanye: 4 cases and 1 recovery
