BARBERTON – The former councillor for Ward 45 in the City of Mbombela Local Municipality, Mandla Mamba, is set to appear in the Barberton Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
Mamba will be facing two charges: that of allegedly committing fraud and attempted murder. His last court appearance was on August 31 and he was remanded into custody.

Mamba stepped down as a councillor last April citing, among other reasons, fear for his life. He was replaced by Lifa Sithole.
During his reign as a councillor for the ward, his life was threatened several times and several violent incidents, allegedly implicating him, happened in the ward and around Emjindini.
