MBOMBELA -Police revealed that they are investigating other cases which could be linked to the murder accused of Hetta Potgieter (85) at Macadamia Care Centre.
This was revealed during the bail application of John du Plooy (26), Shaun Oosthuizen (38) and Maryna Mandy Vorster (48) who appeared in the Nelspruit District Court today on charges of murder and robbery.
Potgieter was murdered on July 8 in her flat at Macadamia Care Centre.
Her body was discovered the following morning on the bathroom floor. Her hands were tied behind her back. The coroner on the scene said the cause of death was suffocation.
Lt Col Erhard Stroh testified in court that the three could be linked to other murder with the same modus operandi in the country.
The bail hearing continues.
