BREAKING NEWS: Hawks bust truck smuggling drug chemicals

The drug is used to manufacture mandrax, crystal meth, cocaine and heroin.

MBOMBELA – The Hawks together with SAPS White River K9 Unit seized a truck carrying chemicals. Hawks spokesman Capt Dineo Sekgotodi said they arrested two suspects which were driving a diesel truck with two tanks – one of which was full with chemicals used to manufacture drugs. The truck was travelling from Mozambique to Johannesburg on the N4.

The drug is believed to be Orthotoluidine which is listed as a schedule one in part two of the Drug and Trafficking Act, Act 140 of 1992.

The two suspects will be appearing in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today.
