Learners receive air conditioning units to fight the summer heat

Numerous parties came together so that the ProGratia Learning Centre could have these devices in their classrooms.

MBOMBELA – Pro Gratia Learning Centre has been getting increased help from the community recently. Crossing Centre made a substantial donation to the school last week, donating air conditioning units.

The centre caters for learners with special needs.

The official handover was carried out by Lara Viljoen and Anita Mcgarry of Crossing Centre management on October 20.

According to acting principal Andri Bester, to ensure the proper functioning of the Pro Gratia’s air conditioning units, the school needed a three-phase electrical grid, for which the money would be used to connect each air con in each classroom.

At the handover, Bester expressed a huge amount of gratitude for all of the relevant parties who made it possible for the school to install the electrical grid for the air conditioning units.

“I would like to thank Joan van Zyl, the owner of the plot where the school has been built, for contributing half of the money needed, Crossings Centre for contributing the other half, as well as Johan Breytenbach from Rooikat Wholesalers for the air conditioning units. I would also like to thank ARB electrical wholesalers for providing the cables needed at an affordable price, and Van Wyk’s Electrical Contractors for handling the installation.”

According to Bester, the air conditioning units would greatly improve learning conditions in the classroom. “The children can now learn and take in information in a comfortable environment.”
