MBOMBELA – The cash-in-transit heist occurred at about 13:15 on the N4 between Matsulu and KaNyamazane.
According to Brig Leonard Hlathii It is alleged that +-10 suspects who were driving in four vehicles, a black Mercedes, two BMWs, one grey and one black, as well as a white bakkie, opened fire at the Fidelity Security armoured bakkie, which was coming from Malalane side and heading towards Mbombela until it came to halt.
They then forced out the guards, then blasted the vehicle using explosives and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The driver was assaulted, but not seriously injured and was taken to hospital for observations.

MBOMBELA – Another CIT heist just occurred on the N4 near the Crocodile Gorge between Kaapmuiden and Matsulu.

It has been confirmed that one Fidelity guard was injured and their firearms taken. The suspects escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The SAPS Airwing has been deployed and is currently tracking the suspects.
