WHITE RIVER – Just a week ago the dam was still a few metres below the top of the dam wall but good recent rain in the catchment area made the dam’s level rise rapidly.
Netta Steenkamp posted a photo of the water level on social media this morning when it was just about to touch the support poles of the wooden jetty. Just a few hours later she posted more images with the jetty now well in the water and the dam level less than half a meter from overflowing.

At the pace the water is currently rising it could very well start overflowing by tonight or early tomorrow. The current rain also shows no signs of dissipating.
