Talent abounds at music school’s year-end show

It was the final performance on the day and stole the show.

MBOMBELA – There were plenty of young talent on stage at the Theresa Prinsloo Music School’s annual year-end concert.

Themed Broadway! Music, Memories and Movies this year, the concert took place at Curro Nelspruit on Sunday afternoon.

Once again this highlight on the music calendar impressed.

Each and every performer showed how much musical talent the Lowveld’s youths have, as each gave a stellar performance.

A lovely variety of music genres were showcased. These included marimba groups, pop songs and classical music. All the pupils shone, and parents eagerly supported the artists.

“I’m here to support my daughter and I think the overall performance from these kids was great. It is amazing that as young as they are, they able to give us such flawless performances,” said Scott Kuzel.

Sumari Naudé, who was recently named the second best junior instrumentalist in the country, entertained on the harp and piano. She played “Die Kunswedstryd”, “Kiss the Rain” and “Somewhere My Love” with Karla Brits.

It was the final performance on the day and stole the show.

Karla, who achieved four A++ for her harp playing at the Nelspruit Eisteddfod, also performed “Music of the Night” and “Liebestraum”.

Xander Goosen, who won four gold medals at the South African Talent Championships for his singing, performed “Let’s do it”.

Another highlight was the Curro Marimbas.

The audience went home with the wonderful music still ringing in their ears.
