According to the City of Mbombela, some firefighters are currently trying to contain the fire, after which the power lines feeding Steiltes and the CBD will be brought back online.
A separate Eskom pylon has also collapsed and is causing power outages in the Nelsriver substation.

This area will be off for the remainder of the day while Eskom works to restore the power.

Areas such as the Riverside Precinct, Elawini, Kiaat Hospital and surrounding places have also been affected by this outage.
