Kori Moraba’s legacy of giving continues in Mashishing

Sizo Primary School receives a donation from Anna Moraba.

Kori Moraba’s legacy of caring for the community lives on in his widow, Anna. Kori grew up in Mashishing, and became famous in the 70s for his song “Tswang Tswang Tswang”.

“Tswang Tswang Tswang” is still heard at weddings and parties to this day. His wedding and love songs in African languages were hits throughout his life. The couple lived in Gauteng, but his wife decided to move to Mashishing permanently after his death on January 3 last year. She said she felt closer to him.

Anna donated some necessary sanitary products to the girls at Sizo Primary School on August 8. Thabo Setsoalo, the principal, welcomed the donation. He thanked her and informed his teachers which famous personality this generous donor had been married to.

Sizo Primary School is situated on the historical church grounds of Maria Tros on the Mosterthoek/Frischgewaagd road outside Lydenburg.
