Nothing short of a miracle, says paramedic of Karino accident

Following reports of a serious accident on the N4 on September 1, a paramedic said his only explanation for what he found on the scene was a miracle.

“I literally took a Band-Aid out and put it on the one driver’s left thumb.”

The scene was absolute carnage, but that was the extent of injuries following an accident last Friday, September 1, between two trucks on the N4 between the Karino interchange and Valencia link, as relayed by Emer-G-Med’s operational manager, Martin Jeffrey.

One truck had been stationary when the other drove into it from behind, Jeffrey said.

Even heading to the accident after the call had come through, he said he had been preparing himself for what might come, as you learn what to expect from certain calls.

Arriving at the scene, however, he found no trace of an injury among the two truck drivers, save for a bruise on the one’s left thumb that merely required a plaster.

“It was a God-given miracle that no one was killed. The one driver told me luckily he had been wearing a seatbelt. I told him, ‘I don’t think it was your seatbelt that saved your life…'”

Jeffrey said this was just one of those calls. Sometimes they get to a bumper bash with severe injuries, and then they get something like this that he cannot describe as anything other than a miracle.
