Women’s radiance celebrated in style at Church Unlimited Mbombela

Vulnerability, spirituality and joyfulness were all interwoven into the conference to honour Women’s Day.

What’s more beautiful than a woman? A whole room filled with them.

On August 9, the team at Church Unlimited Mbombela celebrated women with their annual Women’s Day conference.

This year’s theme was ‘radiant’, a word that perfectly encapsulates the nature of a woman: vividly bright, shining, expressive of love and confident. Three hundred women laughed together and engaged in conversation, sharing their experiences of woman- and motherhood.

The morning was kicked off with a praise and worship session led by the church’s band. Then the microphone was handed over to Pr Dolly Sonjica, who had travelled all the way from KwaZulu-Natal to share her testimony.

Sonjica’s story of loss and growth was shared with vulnerability, and combined with her spirituality. It even made for some watery eyes, but all in all, it was one to which each woman could relate, in their own way of course.

The women were spoilt with sweet treats and warm beverages, and also took home a potted plant each to resemble growth.

While the room was filled with women, men formed part of the helping hands behind the scenes. Etienne Garnett-Bennett of Church Unlimited told Lowvelder they were very satisfied with how the event went. “The point of the day was to create the opportunity for women to come together and to get spoilt a bit as well,” he said.

This year was the second time Church Unlimited opted to host an event like this on Women’s Day, and they are already looking forward to the next year of celebrating women and their radiance.
