Scorpion Boxing Academy members let their fists do the stinging in Phalaborwa

After delivering some gallant performances, this boxing academy in Mbombela has its eyes set on the upcoming Mpumalanga Championships taking place next month.

On May 13, six boxers of the Scorpion Boxing Academy in Mbombela attended a boxing tournament in Phalaborwa.

Their lite boxers did exceptionally well.

Although Norman Dawson lost his first fight, he refused to give up, and put on a tough and gutsy show. His determination is astonishing.

Dwayn Viljoen was the academy’s first winner of the tournament. Dwayn won his fight fair and square after a gruelling battle.

Wilson Odiko competed in the heavyweight division. His opponent had five fights behind his name compared to his one. Needless to say, Odiko was completely outmatched. Defying the odds, however, he managed a victory with a knockout punch in the second round.

Kennedy Mboba also had a really tough fight, and lost it despite some true dedication.

Wandré Viljoen was the academy’s peewee boxer at the tournament. He also fought in his first fight, and despite giving his best, lost the encounter.
The academy ended the tournament with three wins and three losses.
