Entrepreneurship seminar in Mbombela looks to the future of Mbombela’s youth

The What We Wished For Foundation plans to host more seminars like this to continue inspiring the youth and building business minds.

Mbombela’s youth and business leaders of the community came together at the city’s civic centre hall on February 15 for the first entrepreneurship seminar hosted by the What We Wished For Foundation.

The CEO and founder of the foundation, Wakhe Shongwe, said its mission is to provide the youth with opportunities to discover and express their abilities and skills through purposefully designed programmes, solutions and events.

“Our slogan is ‘Building a better future, one wish at a time’,” Shongwe said.

And that was the goal of the seminar – to inspire the youth and to spark ideas in them.

The topic discussed was how to create business opportunities for the youth.

It was unpacked by various guest speakers, including an entrepreneur and radio presenter, Mfundo Nyambi, and the founder and owner of Madaiza Urban Lifestyle, Junior Zwane. The CEO of Charged Up, Ntsako Mahlaule, was the keynote speaker.

There were about 50 people who took their seat in the hall and listened attentively to what the speakers had to say.

“We are satisfied with how the event turned out. We accomplished our vision and mission. We believe in our work, and our first entrepreneurship seminar was a testimony that we are definitely on the right track,” Shongwe said.

He said they plan to host five more of these seminars this year.

“The feedback we got was positive and the general response was that people appreciated the platform and networking opportunity.”

Various exhibitors, including Lungile Mkhonto of Revelation of Genesis and representatives from the EFFENEM clothing brand, were also present and put their talents on display.
