Become a CANSA volunteer in 2023

Volunteers are an integral part of CANSA and form the backbone of many of its teams in communities country-wide.

CANSA celebrates and acknowledges its incredible team of volunteers. It is thanks to the dedication, support and care of these selfless men and women, that CANSA can continue to carry out its care and support services.

Lisa Strydom, the organisation’s service manager, said CANSA is in need of volunteers to help with support programmes for patients.
The tasks of volunteers include being a caregiver to patients and helping loved ones cope with the physical side effects of cancer treatment.

With the necessary training, volunteers can offer practical solutions, provide emotional support and organise fundraisers like the CANSA Shavathon and CANSA Relay For Life events.

Admin volunteers assist with office work at the care centres, and virtual volunteers help with the design, editing and translating of material, health awareness campaigns, and information talks in local communities. Advocacy volunteers work with legislators, and professionals volunteer their professional skills and training free of charge to cancer patients, staff, or volunteers.

Should you, or your company wish to assist CANSA with a donation or sponsorship for their volunteers, email Strydom at lstrydom@cansa.org.za. Sign up as a volunteer online or contact your nearest CANSA Care Centre.
