Hazyview man found in possession of suspected drugs

The man, who had been renting a home in Numbi Park, was arrested on Friday

A 38-year-old man is expected to appear in the White River Magistrate’s Court today, facing charges of the possession of suspected drugs.

His court appearance follows his arrest in Hazyview recently.

A statement by a provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, said that information was received regarding a person in possession of suspected drugs.

Mohala said a team consisting of members from Tactical Response Team (TRT) in Pienaar, the Provincial Crime Intelligence Gathering unit and their counterparts from Vehicle Investigation Section, proceeded to a house in Numbi Park near Hazyview on November 25.

Meanwhile, in the early hours of Friday, three men between the ages of 34 and 38 were arrested in Chrissiesmeer near Ermelo with six bags of dagga.

Mohala said Chrissiesmeer police had been patrolling the N17 between Chrissiesmeer and Warburton when they stopped an NP200 Nissan bakkie with three occupants.
