Man dies after head-on collision on R37
Chuene said five people sustained moderate injuries and nine people suffered minor ones. They were all transported to nearby health facilities for medical attention.
POLOKWANE – A middle-aged man died after a head-on collision on the R37 next to Podungoane on Friday afternoon.
Tidimalo Chuene, spokesperson for the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, confirmed the incident involved a Toyota Hilux bakkie and a Toyota Quantum.
“We have been alerted to a motor vehicle accident that happened on the R37 just after Podungoane, where it is reported that a minibus taxi and a bakkie collided head-on.
“Our traffic officials, police and emergency services attended the scene. The driver of the bakkie, who was trapped in the vehicle, has sadly died.”
