15 armed men rob Pakistani nationals in Hazyview

The police are searching for the armed men who robbed some Pakistani nationals of their valuables and cash at Sabie Flats in Hazyview on Sunday January 16.

According to the police, 15 armed men entered the flats at about 22:45 by damaging the gate and breaking in the doors of the rooms of the Pakistan nationals with a crowbar.

“Some (suspects) were allegedly wearing balaclavas and police uniforms, while others were allegedly wearing Hawks jackets. It is further alleged that during the robbery, one suspect stabbed three victims in their backs and tied their hands with cable ties. The suspects then demanded cash and ransacked their rooms, from which they took cellphones, laptops and other valuable items, and undisclosed amount of cash,” said Brig Selvy Mohlala, a provincial police spokesperson. The provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Semakaleng Manamela, has strongly condemned the incident.
