The Nelspruit SAPS are investigating a case of a missing 26-year-old man. Antony Ndlovu of Mataffin, a groundsman at Mbombela Stadium, has been missing since June 28.
His brother, Doctor Khumalo, said he was last seen wearing a grey jacket, white cap, blue skinny jeans and black sneakers.
The family say they do not have any information as to what led to his disappearance. His employer, Sue de Zwaart of Talking Turf, said they are all worried about him and would like to ask the public to help the family find him.
“We are offering an amount of R2 000 to anyone who can help us to find Antony.”
His family have opened a missing person’s case with the local police to search for him.
The Nelspruit police spokesperson, Capt Zandile Gqawa, said she could confirm that such a case was under investigation by the police. “There are currently no leads, although if there’s anyone out there that has any information, please contact the police. We cannot share more details on the case since it is under investigation,” she said. The family said they have been searching since June.
“We have tried looking for him in surrounding areas hoping to find him. We have heard rumours that he was seen walking around alone, but when we go to those areas, we do not find him. Our mother is now refusing to eat and is not willing to go to work. She is in so much pain and worried about his well-being. His employer is also looking for him, and they are also worried.”
Khumalo said his brother’s girl-friend and friend saw him before he disappeared. “On June 27, his girlfriend called asking me to quickly come to her place since my brother was behaving strangely. She said he appeared to be unstable and had fallen down. By the time I had got to her, he was gone. She said he had stood up and left.
“On June 28, his friend contacted me to say he was with my brother. However, I never spoke to him (my brother) over the phone. We had agreed that I would see him the next day. The friend called me early the next morning to say my brother had left his home,” he said. Khumalo said they are asking the public to help them locate him.

“We just want Antony to come home. Whatever made him leave, we can work on it together as a family,” he said.
