Dr Enos Mabuza Drive’s construction is moving

Construction to upgrade a section of Dr Enos Mabuza Drive is expected to conclude by the end of October.

The project, to widen the road between the Johanna Drive intersection and the R40, started last year and resulted in frustration for motorists due to congestion. Japie Visser, a construction supervisor of WhiteHazy Building Construction, spoke to Lowvelder onsite.

“We plan to complete the section by the end of October. The problems we face include Telkom currently being in the process of moving lines before we can proceed.

“We still have to wait for the electricity cables to be moved.

MTN and Vodacom have to do their part too. When these service providers complete their work we will then able to move to that portion then do our roadwork. We are hoping to finish by the end of this month. When we are done, the installation of the robots and street lights will commence,” he said.
