Ehlanzeni District municipality – latest public notice
Adoption of the Spatial development framework review (2020) for the Ehlanzeni District Municipality.
Notice is hereby given in terms of section 20(1) of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act 16 of 2013) (hereinafter referred to as SPLUMA), that the Ehlanzeni District Municipality, at its Council meeting held on 18 June 2020, has adopted the Ehlanzeni District Spatial Development Framework (SDF) review 2020, by way of Resolution A 66/2020.
This review of the Ehlanzeni District Municipality SDF (2020) is a review and update of the previous SDF (2010). The SDF details the spatial policies, strategies and implementation mechanisms that may or may not have been carried over from previous SDFs, as well as those that have been amended or added.
It also includes those components as contemplated in section 21 of SPLUMA. As a result of the review, the Ehlanzeni District Municipality developed a Draft SDF on which public comments were sought over a period of 60 days.
The comments submitted by the public were considered by the Municipality, and the SDF was amended taking into consideration the comments received and as such was submitted to the Council and was subsequently approved.
