KNP visitors trapped at gate

Panic ensued as some visitors to the Kruger National Park (KNP) could not exit the reserve at noon today.

Crocodile Bridge – Initial reports of protestors and imposters who allegedly forced their way into the KNP at the Crocodile Bridge Gate could not be confirmed and all seems to be peaceful at the park.

The general communications and marketing manager of the KNP, Isaac Phaahla, explained that the park had exceeded its quotas for the day and the gate had to be closed due to being filled to capacity.

He stated that the unfortunate motorists who had parked close to the gate will be assisted by protection services and traffic officers to exit the park safely.

He urged visitors to the park who found themselves near the Crocodile Gate to proceed calmly to the Orpen or Malelane Gate in order to depart from the KNP without hindrances.
