#LifeBegins@40k

Lowvelder reached 40 000 likes on Facebook and to celebrate this accolade the digital department teamed up with the HOG (Harley Owners Group) Big Five chapter, led by John Fraser, and Wimpy The Grove for a morning to remember.

The Lowvelder digital team took the winners of the #VirtualEasterEggHunt on a 40-kilometre trip around town, treating them to a wonderful bike ride and a breakfast at Wimpy, The Grove to sooth their adrenaline-filled tummies.

The winners who went on this wild excursion were Mari-Lou Ras, Lizl Pretorius and Zelda de Clerck.

“Not all of us are fortunate.  There are people outside there who you can’t see or even know them but they are in need. By joining forces with the community and Ligwala Gwala in this Winter Warmer Blanket Drive we are one big team who are able to support one another”, say Michael Makhanya, operational leader for Wimpy at The Grove.

Michael puts a call out to the public to bring big blankets to the Wimpy, Grove or Riverside Mall so that people can stay warm during winter.

“Cash donations are also welcome as we will buy blankets and deliver them to the Ligwala Gwala centre or people can enjoy the Winter Warmer breakfast and then we will donate R11 for every Winter Warmer breakfast to this blanket drive”, says Makhanya.

A new milestone on Facebook

The occasion was also to celebrate Lowveld Media hitting 40K likes on Facebook, kicking our next 40K off with a bang.
