Prince Harry graces trio

The trio have suffered similar fate. Wyntir fled when her mother was poached and was later attacked by poachers as well and hyenas. She overcame her life-threatening injuries.

MBOMBELA – It certainly has been an exciting time for Wyntir, Tana and Mabush over the past two months.

The trio, with their fellow rhinos at Care for Wild Rehabilitation Centre, have had a stream of celebrities, including Prince Harry, visit the sanctuary to meet and greet them.

Prince Harry, known globally for his unwavering support of wildfire, recently travelled to southern Africa. He was on a three-month conservation project in the region aimed at supporting the black rhino and the elephant anti-poaching campaign.

The trio have suffered a similar fate. Wyntir fled when her mother was poached and was later attacked by poachers and hyenas. She overcame her life-threatening injuries.

Dr Markus Hofmeyr, head of Veterinary Wildlife Services at South African National Parks and other vets also visited the young rhinos at the centre. The doctors treated all the rhinos at the sanctuary of which the horns had grown to a potential poaching stage.
