More than 600 look to a brighter future

According to Dr Abraham Varghese a total of 1 003 people registered for screening and 689 of them each received a brand-new set of spectacles.

MBOMBELA – Hundreds of people celebrated Mandela Day with a brand-new outlook when they each received spectacles.

This formed part of an initiative by the Nelspruit Lions Club in conjunction with the Mpumalanga Council for Blind and Plaza SUPERSPAR that was held at Nelspruit Plaza on Friday.

According to Dr Abraham Varghese a total of 1 003 people registered for screening and 689 of them each received a brand-new set of spectacles.

He urged those who failed to collect theirs to come again on August 21 and bring along their previous registration slip.

Glasses can be collected from 09:00 in the car park behind Plaza SUPERSPAR.
