Miss South Africa junior won by Burgersfort lass

"I have started going to schools to motivate young people, talking about self-worth and the importance of beauty pageants in society.

BURGERSFORT – It’s been a month since Tubatse’s own Kgotlelelo Mashoeu (20) won the Miss South Africa Junior title. This eccentric, beautiful Mashifan-born woman is still proud to have been the first from the platinum town to win the prestigious crown.

Mashoeu shot past 29 other gorgeous ladies to win the coveted title and one-year bragging rights as South Africa’s junior queen.

Steelburger/Lydenburg News recently caught up with the confident Mashoeu. She didn’t waste any time in sharing her happiness of winning the title.

The Miss SA Junior title has really changed my life and it is a great blessing.”

“My mother, Aletta Mashoeu, has always been an inspiration in my modelling career. She saw me as a model from a very young age and she always persuaded me to continue with the pageants.”

The young model matriculated at the El-Shaddai Christian School in Vanderbijlpark in 2012. In 2014 she enrolled at the University of Turfloop to study geology. “After completing my degree, I wish to further my studies till doctorate level, venture into business and continue being a noble friend, a loving sister, a humble daughter and a servant of change in this society.”

Mashoeu has already participated in more than 14 charity projects in her short spell as Miss SA Junior .

“I have started going to schools to motivate young people, talking about self-worth and the importance of beauty pageants in society.

“I have also had an interview with Tubatse FM. In five years’ time, I wish to have built my own modelling school, and be an established geologist,” she added.

Her motto in life is, “Make determination, hard work and enthusiasm a way of life. Do what you love, but stay humble. With this I see myself as the next Miss SA, who knows, maybe I can be the first Miss SA proudly from Tubatse,” she giggled.
