Face of Riverside with a cause – mission accomplished

The Face of Riverside With a Cause corporate challenge has proved what can be done when a substantial amount was collected to fund Bossies Community Justice's (BCJ) latest crime-fighting device - a drone.

MBOMBELA – When the citizens of this city work together and combine guts, beauty and the willingness to give, they can do anything – even fly. The Face of Riverside With a Cause corporate challenge has proved just that when a substantial amount was collected to fund Bossies Community Justice’s (BCJ) latest crime-fighting device – a drone.

The annual Face of Riverside competition took place on March 12 and the event was taken to a whole new level. According to Ms Tanya Cruse, RiversideMall’s marketing manager, a category was added to the competition which motivated entrants to sell raffle tickets to raise funds for BCJ.

A total of R24 700 was raised. Ashlee Blom was announced the ambassador of the Face of Riverside With a Cause. “We also launched a corporate challenge on March 12, which drew to a close at the end of March,” said Cruse. “Organisations were challenged to perform fun tasks on camera. “After making a financial contribution to BCJ, the organisation in question was offered the opportunity to nominate another business entity.”

The first corporate entities which rose to the challenge were the Riverside Mall management, Sikhumbuzo Funeral Services, Rising Sun Strawberries and Casambo Guest Lodge. Another 26 corporate challengers were great sports and combined their efforts to raise R48 600 for the cause.

“Congratulation and appreciation go to Rudamans, the highest bidder of the corporate challenge. As promised, they will be awarded exhibition space inRiverside Mall. In addition to this, Rudamans will appear on the Face of Riverside With a Cause winners’ billboard on the R40.

“It is so rewarding to see the people of Mbombela working together. Our corporate sphere’s challenging spirit did not disappoint. The tireless efforts of Master Models, Lowvelder, BCJ and the Face of Riverside With a Cause participants and their supporters made this work. We are very grateful for everyone’s help.”

“The total of R73 300 that was raised will be used to finance BCJ’s new drones. They will now fight crime from the air as well!” • The Market, Riverside Mall Pharmacy, Wimpy Riverside Mall, Nail Box, Riverside Park, Westvaal, McDonald’s Grove, Super Steers Biltong, Bidvest Riverside Mall, Sonpark Management, National Renal Care, American Express Riverside Mall, The Puzzle, B Braun, Hi Q, Salonique Nelspruit and White River, The Pub, Rudamans, Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, Marlin Pub & Grill, Lowvelder, Detroit Spur, The Lapa, Big Bear Spur, Alan Hudson Motors and Halls Properties also donated towards the cause.
