Update: Crusaders are almost in Pretoria!

The team are approximately 40 kilometers away from their destination.

MBOMBELA – The man who vowed to walk from our city to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to stand up against the killings of white farmers and police officers, is right on schedule, passing Bronkhorstspruit this morning.

Mr Duncan Nyawo and his three companions, Mr Alex Leitch (Ballito), Mr Ian Venter (Mbombela), Mr Jaco Klopper (Mbombela) started walking from Hall’s Gateway at 08:00 on Monday and aimed to arrive in Pretoria on Wednesday afternoon. That would mean walking at least 120 kilometres for three days. Many supporters wished them well on the tough journey which lay ahead, but doubted that they would make their target. A fifth member, Mr Sipho Mnisi, joined the team in Witbank and would complete the journey to Pretoria with them.

However, against all odds, the group is now only 40 kilometres away from their destination. Amid a few minor medical matters, like bleeding toes, burning blisters and slight dehydration, the team is still marching on.
