Hippo charges boat on Chobe River (video)

Watch how this hippo attacks a boat on photo safari in Botswana.

A video taken earlier this month while on photo safari in Kasana, Botswana, depicting a hippo charging a boat on the Chobe River reached more than three million views on YouTube in less than a month.

Loaded by user David Jackson, he mentions that it was taken by his son Craig Clive Jackson while on a photo safari with Pangolin Photo Safaris. “Do yourself a favor, if you enjoy wildlife photography as an amateur or professional, you must do one of these photo safaris, they even provide you with a camera and large zoom lens.”

“We were travelling on the Chobe when we came across this hippo which appeared to want to charge the boat, fortunately the iPhone was at the ready and we managed to capture this magnificent footage. The hippo was closer to the boat than what it appears on the video. It is amazing how fast a hippo can move in water, never under estimate a hippo speed by its physical size,” Jackson says on YouTube.
