Panga-gang strikes again shortly after arrest of one member

Members of the community are advised to be on the lookout for the men in the Riverside Industrial area.

MBOMBELA – Only a few hours after one of the alleged panga-trio had been arrested, the remaining gang members strike again.

According to Jacques Meiring from Bossies Community Justice (BCJ) two men armed with pangas attacked an elderly lady at the botanical gardens this afternoon. “I suspect it is the remaining two members of the gang,” Meiring said.

According to him the victim was beaten up, but did not sustain serious injuries. Meiring said the woman was however rushed to hospital as she was extremely traumatised.

According to him one suspect wore a blue overall jacket and the other a darker one, possibly black in colour.

Members of the community are advised to be on the lookout for the men in the Riverside Industrial area.

A reward of R10 000 has been issued for any information that might lead to the arrest of the remaining two suspects. Anyone with information can contact BCJ on 082-567-5212.
