ANC submit candidates for November Ward 3 by-election

Barberton Times learnt that the ANC had two preferred candidates for the elections. They have been identified as Sakhile Msibi and Makhundu Ndhlovu.

By 10:00 on Monday, only the ANC had managed to submit its candidate to participate in the November 26 by-election for Ward 3. The election was due to Lucky Sambo’s resignation.

The deadline for political parties to submit their candidate lists is today at 17:00. Solomon Lukhele, IEC Umjindi coordinator, said the ANC submitted their candidate last Friday but he was unable to identify who it was. He said they were still waiting for other political parties and individuals wishing to compete for the elections to submit their candidates.“I can confirm that the ANC submitted its candidate last Friday but I can’t reveal the name of that person until after 17:00. We are still waiting for the other political parties to submit their lists. The name of the candidates will be made available after 17:00,” said Lukhele.
