Klipspringer awards achievers on all fronts

The school year is fast drawing to a close, and the school took a moment to look back on what the learners have accomplished.

NELSPRUIT – Klipspringer Primary School proudly awarded its star pupils for their achievements this past year. While the school year is fast drawing to a close, it took a moment to look back on what the learners accomplished, before looking ahead to the school's future next year.

One of the many certificates handed out on the evening, went to the school choir. They received an accolade for winning the sub-regional championships of the South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod. The members of the choir and their conductor Mr Elliot Gumede proudly accepted the award.

Sihle Lubisi was rewarded for winning the regional literacy award this year for creative writing.

The little ones were not forgotten on the evening, and the grade R gymnasts also received a nod. The team comprising these young acrobats, ended third overall at the Ehlanzeni district gymnastics competition earlier this year. This they accomplished under the tutelage of their coach and teacher Ms Bronwyn Stone and her assistant Ms Priscilla Masinga.

Other highlights included the announcement of the student governing body for 2013. This group of leaders will be led by Mpho Kekana and Howard Sigudla who were announced as the head girl- and boy respectively. They will be assisted by Nokwanda Lukhele as deputy head girl and Njabulo Makhubela as her male counterpart.

The school said that the academic achievers will not be announced until early next year, once the current year has come to a close.
