TS Galaxy to host CAF matches at Mbombela Stadium

TS Galaxy FC will begin their historic CAF Confederation Cup campaign by hosting St Louis of the Seychelles at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday August 11.

This is due to their home venue, Kameelrivier Stadium, not being CAF complaint.

This was confirmed by the team owner, Tim Sukazi, in an press statement.

Sukazi said they have noted all concerns and issues raised by supporters regarding the playing of their CAF home matches in Mbombela as opposed to their fortress, Kameelrivier.

This is a situation beyond the control of the club because Kameelrivier is not CAF compliant while Mbombela is the only CAF-compliant stadium in Mpumalanga. The only matches that the club are able to host at Kameelrivier are the National First Division (NFD) games.

“I trust this clarifies the issue and thank you in advance for your understanding of the situation which is completely out of the club’s control. Let us all invade Mbombela on Sunday August 11 and paint it red so we could give St Louis the most torrid football experience,” explained Sukazi.

In so doing Galaxy became the first NFD club to lift the Nedbank Cup in the tournament’s history.
