Around the world: Angola

This week we travel to Angola to find out more about this unique country and everything that is happening there.

Angola is situated in the Western side of the African continent. This country has 18 provinces and 163 municipalities. Angola is a multi presidential capital and each term lasts 5 years.

Luanda has an extravagant natural harbor, which serves as the largest port of Angola. The port continues to expand rapidly and daily.

The population of Luanda alone is 4,799,432. The population increase raised quickly due to war in surrounding countries and refugees fleeing into Angola.

47 per cent of the country follows the Roman catholic church as religion.

The country has numerous beautiful beaches and many sites to see like Military Museum, the National Anthropological Museum, and Roque Santeiro, a huge open-air market.

Angola is rich in natural resources like gold, diamonds, fishery, forestation and oil production. Although farming is a big industry in Angola, still more than half of the food is being imported.

Luanda does however have a problem with their water being polluted by sewage and it’s a constant battle to keep these resources clean.

Lastly this is a country rich in culture with many thing to experience around every corner.
