The first state-run oncology unit in the Mpumalanga was officially opened by MEC of the Department of Health, Sasekani Manzini, at Rob Ferreira Hospital on Tuesday.

She said the availability of chemotherapy services will reduce the journeys to Gauteng for cancer treatment.

Rob Ferreira Hospital is one of the two tertiary hospitals in the province. The department also partnered with Wits University in this project.
