Mbombela youngsters kick to win ball signed by rugby legend Duane Vermeulen

Some dads and their boys participated in the exciting Rhino Hill Kicking Challenge.

Several dads challenged their boys in a rugby ball kicking challenge on Tuesday September 24, gearing up for the Springbok showdown on Saturday September 28.

The Rhino Hill Kicking Challenge at Plot 4, Rhenosterkop, on the Uitkyk Road attracted some potential rugby players. They stood to win a rugby ball signed by the legendary South African rugby player, Duane Vermeulen.

The rule was to kick the ball into the back of a bakkie placed 30m away. Unfortunately, no one managed to do this and collect the special ball.

The challenge’s organiser, Fanie Combrink, said he would organise another instalment of this challenge some time in October. In the meantime, the ball will be kept safe.
