Nelspruit Hospice hosts pop-up market
All the money that was collected will go towards the Nelspruit Hospice to support patients who are in need.
The Nelspruit Hospice hosted a pop-up market at its premises in Mbombela to raise much-needed funds for the organisation on Saturday July 27.
According to its manager, Landi Bezuidenhout, the collected funds will go towards maintaining the centre, purchasing equipment and staff transport.
“We depend on the extra funding, because we have almost exhausted the money saved to help those needing desperate healthcare. We hosted this market and many donated food, clothing, cutlery and other home equipment. With the income generated from regular fundraising events, we run the hospice and buy what is needed most,” she said.

Bezuidenhout said they currently care for 67 patients.
The hospice receives referrals daily as the need for home-based care is increasing. The current funding is insufficient to fulfil all the patients’ needs and they rely heavily on the goodwill of the Lowveld community.
“We call on all residents and business owners to donate to our centre so that we can continue looking after the patients, many of whom are on the brink of dying. Please support our fundraising initiatives, because this money makes a huge difference to our organisation,” she said.
She thanked all volunteers, staff and members of the public who came in numbers to support them, some even buying equipment from their own pockets to sell at the fundraising event.
