Family attacked on Schoemanskloof farm

The victims were assaulted before the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, four guns and ammunition.

Police are searching for four suspects who attacked a family on their farm in Schoemanskloof on Thursday July 4.

According to a provincial police spokesperson, Captain Magonseni Nkosi, four armed suspects stormed the farm and held up two family members who were outside the farmhouse, forcing them inside.

“When they were inside, they assaulted them and demanded money and a key to the safe. They then robbed them of an undisclosed amount of cash, four guns, ammunition, and some household items. Then they fled the scene in one of the victims’ vehicles,” he said.

Nkosi added that police were alerted and other law enforcement also activated.

The suspects were cornered by the police on the Kaapsehoop road, but managed to escape with the stolen property and abandoned the car.

He also said minor injuries were reported during the incident.

Police are still looking for the suspects and urge anyone with any information that can assist the police in arresting them to call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, or send information via the My SAPS app.
