Spoil Dad with all the love this Father’s Day

Father’s Day is a special occasion to celebrate the incredible dads in our lives and to show them just how much they mean to us.

Give your dad undivided attention and make sure the day is filled with all his favourite things.

Make him breakfast in bed and write him a heartfelt card expressing your gratitude for everything he does for you. Share a few memories and laugh together. Sometimes, sincere words make the most meaningful gift.

The goal is to make him feel loved, appreciated and celebrated on his special day. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you put the phone away! Make it a tech-free day – enjoy good old-fashioned chatting and enjoying each other’s company without interruptions.

Here’s to all the amazing dads out there – happy Father’s Day!

We’ve put together a few great ideas to help you make this Father’s Day unforgettable!

• Choose an activity you don’t normally do that everyone can enjoy together. Go abseiling, tobogganing or see the Lowveld from a bird’s-eye view in a hot-air balloon. The quality time spent bonding and exploring will make the day especially memorable.

• Light a fire and treat Dad to a braai with all his favourite goodies. Lots of dads like to man the braai themselves, so perhaps consider a brand-new braai set as a thoughtful gift. A bottle of his favourite Scotch or brandy will top the day off nicely.

• All dads love home-made gifts. Get creative and craft a personalised something that reflects his interests and hobbies. A hand-painted mug, a framed artwork or even a memory jar filled with thoughtful notes and memories. Putting time and effort into a home-made gift shows how much you appreciate him.

• Set up a cozy movie marathon at home featuring all your dad’s favourite films or a selection of classic movies. Don’t forget the popcorn and snacks! You can go all out with home-made biscuits, scones or pancakes washed down with hot chocolate.

• It’s not only mums who love to be pampered. Surprise Dad with a relaxing spa day on which he can unwind and indulge in some well-deserved spoiling. Book a massage, facial or grooming session at a spa, or create a DIY spa experience at home with scented candles and his favourite music. Run a hot bath and let him relax.

• For dads who love the outdoors, plan a weekend adventure. Pitch a tent and camp under the stars, spend the day fishing or exploring, listen to his stories around the campfire and enjoy the simplicity of being outdoors together, away from the stress of modern living.

• There are any number of great restaurants in the Lowveld. Take him to a long and leisurely lunch or dinner, and maybe throw in a movie that you know he’ll love.

Lots of dads love to cook

Buy him all the ingredients for his favourite dish and let him have free rein of the kitchen for the day.

Our chicken curry recipe is a winner – get the family together to make naan, rotis or rice and accompaniments. Sit down at the table as a family, open up a bottle of wine and enjoy a hearty, home-cooked meal together.

It’s priceless.

Happy Father’s Day!
