The late Chief Clyde Mnisi’s sister shot dead in Hazyview

The victim was fatally shot by three unknown male suspects who were travelling in a VW Polo.

The sister of the late Chief Clyde Mnisi was fatally shot at a McDonald’s Drive-Thru in Hazyview at about 18:20 on Thursday June 6.

According to a provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, a female driver was fatally shot and a male passenger was wounded and rushed to a hospital.

“The victims were traveling in a Mercedes-Benz Viano as they approached the Hazyview McDonald’s Drive-Thru. Three armed male suspects travelling in a VW Polo stopped next to the victims, fired a few shots at them, and fled the scene. The female was declared dead at the scene, while the other victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment,” he said.

Mdhluli also said no one has been arrested as of yet, and the Hazyview police are investigating a murder case and an attempted murder case.

The police are also urging anyone with any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to come forward, or alternatively contact the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, or send information via the My SAPS app.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased who were at the scene confirmed that the victim was the sister of the late Chief Clyde Mnisi.
