Three men to appear in Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court in connection with Mbombela anaesthetist’s murder

Three men, aged between 20 and 38, are expected to appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today, February 6, in connection with the murder of Mbombela anaesthetist Dr Nicholas Procter, whose body was found in a flat in Green Valley Estate on Thursday February 1.

A provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, said these three suspects were apprehended in Protea Glen, Gauteng, on Monday February 5.

Lowvelder is currently at the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court awaiting the suspects’ appearance.

Procter was an associate of Nelanest Anaesthetic Association at Mediclinic Nelspruit, and was first reported missing when he had not shown up for work at Mediclinic on Thursday morning February 1.

Later that morning, his vehicle was spotted parked on the bridge near Elawini, and a search for the anaesthetist was launched around the area by local authorities, emergency medical services and security companies. The search continued and spread to other parts of Mbombela until information led the police, the White River Flying Squad and AG Solutions to Green Valley Estate in Mbombela, where Procter’s body was found in a flat, that was run as a vacation rental unit, with his hands and feet tied up.

Tributes for Procter have been pouring in from many of his friends and colleagues.
