Details of his memorial service and funeral were not yet available.

The Ga-Motshana community outside Burgersfort mourns the death of its chief, Kgoši Rhyne Komane (Mabulane a Marumo).
The 49-year old traditional leader died on the D2537 (the Old Penge Road) in Mabocha during the early hours of Saturday December 2.

The details of his accident were not yet clear, but it is alleged that Komane had struck a cow with his Ford Ranger bakkie, succumbing to the injuries. The cow was found at the accident scene.

His aunt, Asnath Komane, confirmed his death and said, “We are saddened by the untimely death of our chief. The family feels pain and they are heartbroken. We confirm he died as a result of an accident caused by a stray animal during the early hours of the morning.”

At the time of going to press, details of his memorial service and funeral were not yet available.
Community members from Ga-Motshana described the chief as a very humble, loving, passionate and caring person who served his community with bravado. “He did not prefer to be treated special. He mingled with his subjects,”they said.
