The stage is set for Lydenburg’s Got Talent

This is an event for the whole town and the organisers are planning a lavish, sparkling evening. Everyone is welcome to attend the gala evening, special guests artists will be performing.

More than 70 dancers, singers, artists and aspiring actors will take to the stage for Lydenburg’s Got Talent. Tickets are still available for parents and families of the participants even though entries are closed.

The auditions will take place at Lewende Woord Church on November 9 and 10. Winners of the audition rounds will compete to perform at the gala evening on November 11, starting at 18:00.

There is an impressive line-up of judges for the competition. The compère for the gala evening will be Jacques Lombards, a well-known business owner, singer, entertainment personality and resident of Mbombela.

An international judge from the Netherlands, Roy Hoeben, will join the panel this year. He is a former world champion of the World Dance Masters and a passionate dance coach and teacher.

Franco Burger is a professional singer, songwriter, composer, voice teacher, sound engineer and music producer from Lydenburg, who recently moved from Cape Town. He has over 20 years of music and entertainment industry experience, both locally and internationally. As a songwriter, his past clients include South African Idols, The Voice, and Die Kontrak finalists and winners.
Rev Antoinette Wilson is a minister, theologian, speaker, writer, therapist, life coach and drama coach. The art will be judged by renowned local artist, Esmé Naudé.

The current secretary general for the Federation of Dance Sport Mpumalanga, Tanya Edwards-Smith, will also be one of the esteemed judges. She has over 43 years’ experience and is trained in over 20 styles of dance. She has been an adjudicator and teacher for International Solo Dance Sport for 23 years. Another local judge and music enthusiast, Jan Neethling, will join the panel.

The tickets are available at the door, or visit www.vtickets.co.za. The gala evening tickets will be R150 for children and adults, seated. The show starts on Saturday at 18:00.

Parents who want to support their children during the audition rounds on Thursday and Friday will pay R120 and R50 for children in the auditorium. For more information about Lydenburg’s Got Talent, call Brendan McLaren on 073 968 2344.
