IN PHOTOS: Pub crawlers raise glasses to great time in Mbombela

Marlin Pub & Grill was voted the ultimate pub that offered the best entertainment.

One of the Lowveld’s most anticipated events, the annual Lowvelder Pub Crawl, hit Mbombela with a wave of dazzling participants who had fun visiting six pubs in six hours on September 30.

The weather permitted crawlers to dress in anything or nothing for some.

If fun had a recording scale, Marlin Pub & Grill would have hit over the bar as it offered the best entertainment.

Marlin’s owner, Chris Naudé, received the ultimate prize after the crawlers had voted the pub as their most favourite in a tight competition with OppiHoek Pub.

However, they made sure to make their final destination at Mustangs – The Dancing Place, where all the entertainment continued and the voting took place using their completed stamped map.

Some of the participants showcased creativity in their attire and overall team spirit to win some great prizes. These include the Sparta Group, which dressed as ancient Greeks, followed by the Shut Up Lewer – Jy Makeer Niks group as the runners-up. The Besig Bytjies received a prize for best couple.
