How to make a toilet paper roll Christmas tree

Decorating an evergreen tree at the end of the year has long been a tradition. We will continue the tradition but in a slightly different way. The toilet paper roll Christmas tree has arrived. They were once trees, after all! And what is more environmentally friendly than recycling? We guarantee that you and your child will be pleased with the outcome. Here’s how you can make one.

What you need

• Toilet paper rolls (we suggest at least 21 rolls for a small tree, double up if you want a larger tree)
• Large sheet of Christmas wrapping paper
• Hot glue gun
• Green acrylic paint
• Paintbrush
• Beads, sequins, glitter

How to make it

1. Make the first row of your tree out of six paper rolls (double up if you want a larger tree). Glue the rolls together with a hot glue gun.
2. Next, add another level, but use one less paper roll.
3. Repeat, adding one less roll each time, until you have one roll at the top.
4. Cover the front of the tree with Christmas wrapping paper, sticking it firmly down with glue (this step works best if you blob the glue around the circumference of each toilet roll).
5. Help your child paint the backs and sides of the toilet paper rolls green. Allow them to dry.
6. Once your child’s tree is finished, help them decorate it with beads, sequins, and glitter.
