Lefpa is back home and ready for the fire season
With the fire season having started in June, the Lowveld and Escarpment Fire Protection Association (Lefpa) has settled into its new offices and is ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
The province’s fire season officially started on June 1. The Lowveld and Escarpment Fire Protection Association (Lefpa) launched this season last Friday along with opening its new offices at the Nelspruit Airfield.

“We were in town and then said it was time to come back home again, here where the action is, where the planes are,” said the Lefpa manager, André Scheepers, about returning to the place at which they had been based previously. The day consisted of various talks by role players in the industry as well as the occasional fly-by demonstrations.
It was an opportunity for industry companies to introduce themselves to Lefpa members and the public. With the Lowveld Aero Club also having its open day at the same time, refreshments were served at the club for any attendees of the launch.
Scheepers said the launch day and all it had to offer exceeded his expectations and the event was well supported.
