Manhunt for school robbery suspects at Bushbuckridge

The robbery occurred on the evening of September 16, Thursday last week.

Bushbuckridge police launched a manhunt for suspects following a robbery at Letshele Secondary School in Majembeni last Thursday.

Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, said on the evening of September 16, five robbers entered the school where they held a security guard hostage.

Selvy said the guard was tied up before the men stole around 30 Acer computers, a Samsung TV set, two Acer CPUs, four laptops, one wooden door and groceries meant for a feeding scheme at school. He said the suspects then fled the scene, leaving the guard still tied up.

The guard was freed the next morning by another security guard.

The police are appealing to the public to assist with information regarding this incident or the whereabouts of the suspects by contacting Det Lt Col Elizabeth Bhiya on 0726377947 or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, alternatively send information via MySAPS App. All information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
