Penryn celebrates World Read Aloud Day

The grade four Penryn scholars visited the preschool on February 3 to read to the little ones.

Here are ten reasons for your children to read aloud to you:

1. They discover new worlds
2. It is a perfect time for bonding
3. It increases your child’s attention span and confidence
4. They develop a love of reading (debatably one of the most important predeterminations of success as an adult)
5. It gains them new knowledge
6. It is a great opportunity for practicing phonics
7. A child will become familiar with the printed world (predicting what comes next)
8. It builds literacy skills (needed for all learning)
9. It boosts comprehension skills
10. It develops language skills.
